Step 1 Slice 6 to 8 large lemons and cut the slices in half.
Step 2 Put the slices of lemon into a large pot.
Step 3 Add enough water to the pot to just cover the lemons.
Step 4 Bring the water to a boil and let the lemons cook on a low heat for approximately 1 hour.
Step 5 Remove the pot from the heat and allow the lemons and water to cool.
Step 6 Use a potato masher to mash the lemons. This will help to release lemon oil and remove more of the lemon juice.
Step 7 Use a strainer to strain the water into a bucket. Add 2 tablespoons of liquid dish washing detergent, 12 drops of pennyroyal and approximately 1 gallon of water. Pennyroyal is available at health food stores, natural pharmacies and online.
Step 8 Mix the solution well.
Step 9 Mop the entire floor with the flea killing solution. Use a sponge mop for best results.
Step 10 Allow the floor to dry.
Step 11 Rinse the flea killer out of your sponge mop.
Step 12 Mop the floor again with plain water. Repeat every 1 to 3 days until your flea problem is under control.
