Did you know that a flea could jump 100 times its own height? Did you also know that just one female flea will produce 20,000 eggs in a period of only three months?' Lastly, did you know that it can take anywhere from three to six weeks for flea eggs to hatch? Now that's definitely some eye opening, yet frightening flea trivia!

If you take your dog to a groomer many times they will give your dog a flea dip. Every time my dogs had a flea dip, they were sick for a couple of days afterwards. I think the harsh chemical were too much for them to handle. I don’t want to do anything to make my dogs sick and I don’t want them to have fleas. Now I give them an all natural flea wash right before their bath.

Step 1 Pierce the skins of 2 large lemons with a fork all over the lemons to release the lemon oil.

Step 2 Cut up the lemons into slices and cut the slices into quarters.

Step 3 Place the lemon pieces into a large bowl.

Step 4 Boil approximately 2 cups of plain water.

Step 5 Pour the boiling water over the lemon pieces.

Step 6 Let the lemons steep in the water for approximately 10 to 12 hours.

Step 7 Remove the lemons from the water.

Step 8 Place a sponge or rag into the lemon water and squeeze the water out all over your dog. Stay away from your dog’s eyes, but be sure to get the water all over his fur. Put the sponge or rag onto his fur and squeeze the water out t saturate the fur down to the skin. Work from his head back towards his tail. This is best done in the tub or outside on a warm day.

Step 9Wait about 5 to 10 minutes and give your dog his regular bath. The lemon water needs to be washed off of his fur because if left on it will dry out his skin and make his fur very stiff.
