How to Make Shampoo for Your Dog

If you have a pup that carries around bad smelling-stink, he's not very pleasant to be around. The dog's bad odors can even start to linger around the house! This page will teach you how to get rid of your dog's bad smell, and now, you can enjoy her again!

Step 1 Finely grate 1 cup of castile soap.

Step 2 Put grated castile soap into a double boiler along with 3 cups of water.

Step 3 Melt the soap and add 6 tablespoons of glycerin. Glycerin can be purchased in a pharmacy.

Step 4 Stir often while the castile soap is melting.

Step 5 Remove from heat when the soap has melted and well mixed with the water and glycerin.

Step 6 Let the soap mixture cool slightly.

Step 7 Add 6 drops of either Pine essential oil or Lavender essential oil and 4 tablespoons of denatured alcohol. Stir to mix the shampoo thoroughly.

Step 8 Pour the dog shampoo into a plastic bottle. Allow it to cool completely before using. Be sure to label your bottle with all of the ingredients.
